What to do when you’ve lost your spark…

What to do when creatively stuck? Heck maybe you don’t consider yourself creative, but you feel that spark in you flickering away. You know the one I am talking about. That light deep inside that was so present when you were a child, or when you first fell in love, or maybe accomplished something AMAZING, or even went on an adventure of sorts?

I am a believer that this “spark” is the root of all the above listed, among many other experiences, and is related to creation itself. Which is why, when we CREATE, the fire is so easily ignited.

So back to the original question- what do we do when it ISN’T ignited? What do we do when we are stuck in the mud of life and don’t know how to pull ourselves out of this metaphorical rut? Well, there are many MANY ways, but my tried-and-true method is doing something that lit the spark in me as a child. In my case, that is painting like the artist that I first fell in love with- Claude Monet.

Whenever I have a painting block, or even feel that art or thins have been a bit lack luster. I flip through my impressionist history books, or my Monet’s Garden book and paint from them! In no time, the magic I was first drawn to is transmuted from my eyes to my mind, to my brush to the paper and suddenly I am in creating the world that I felt so enchanted by.

Now, I am not telling you my friend to go buy a Monet book and start painting waterlilies. What I am saying is- “What’s your Monet?” What is something, somewhere, someone that first lit your spark? And how can you bring that into your life right now. Yes, right now!

Sending you so much love and all the light in life.

Xx,

Michaela
